7.1 Earthquake Shakes Japan

7.1 Earthquake struck the coast of Japan causing the US to issue Tsunami warning – Epic Center of the quake was in Miyagi. No casualties or major damages have been reported in Japan, but workers of a nuclear plants were forced to evacuate and until officials deemed it safe. Both the US and the Pacific Tsunami Center have since ruled out a possible tsunami threat.

A Nation in Mourning, 11 Children Killed

24 year old crazed gunman Welington de Oliveira opens fire in a school in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil today killing 11 innocent children before turning the gun on himself. It was estimated that 13 children were wounded and fled into the street for safety--Oliveira is a former student and his motive is not clear. The country is in shock and mourning as this malicious act is rare to the nation. President Rousseff of Brazil requested a moment of silence for the innocent lives that were lost.
